About OMQ
The
Odyssey Mandolin Quartet
is a chamber ensemble composed of the mandolin family of instruments
(mandolins, mandola, mandocello). Essentially they are a string
quartet of plucked string instruments.
OMQ
was established in 2008 with Dorothy Palsgrove on 1st mandolin, James Kellaris on
2nd mandolin, Michael Hitchcock on mandola, and
Yvonne Wingard on mandocello.
The OMQ performs a wide variety of music spanning genres, time periods, and geographic origins, with a focus on classical music and the repertoire of the Golden Age of the Mandolin (1890 - 1920's).
OMQ
performs in a variety of venues and settings ranging from concert
halls to private events.
